Undergraduate Poster Award for Research into Gender Based Violence at OCWiC 2017 Conference

This project involves examining microblogs collected from Twitter to analyze public opinion regarding GBV, analyzing tweeting practices by pragmatic function (such as assertion or belief among others). We suggest that the ability to mine actionable insight depends on pragmatic function, where belief tweets specifically reveal attitudes (for example regarding sex trafficking or family condoned practices of arranged temporary marriage) that can serve as the target of intervention campaigns.

Why do you like attending Wright State University?

My favorite part about Wright State University has to be the Computer Science and Computer Engineering department. This department is an extremely friendly community! The professors and teachers care about the students and helps me feel at home! There is a lot of room for growth through the department and the engineering college.
