CS 6290 - Cryptography and Data Security

Mathematical principles of cryptography and data security. Preliminary algebra and number theory will be briefly introduced. Various developments in cryptography will then be discussed, including the data encryption standard (DES), public-key encryption (RSA), cryptographic hash functions, digital signatures, key safeguarding schemes, and cryptographic protocols such as key exchange and entity authentication, identification schemes, electronic elections and digital cash.
Enrollment Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate, Medical, Professional.
