Course addresses the following questions that are fundamental to the design and evaluation of all information systems: What is information? How can we measure it? What are the fundamental limits on the extraction of information from the environment? What are the fundamental limits on the compression and refinement of information? How should devices be designed to approach these limits? How closely do existing devices approach these limits? Department Managed Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level EE 3260 Minimum Grade of D
