ME 6550 - Geothermal Energy

The origins and characteristics of the geothermal resource will be studied. An overview of the broad range of techniques used for tapping the energy of the earth will be discussed. Detailed analysis of techniques for applying cold and hot geothermal energy sources to space heating and cooling and electricity production will be implemented. This will include different ground source heat pump systems and different geothermal power cycles. Department Managed Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level ME 3360 Minimum Grade of C or Undergraduate level ME 5360 Minimum Grade of C
Enrollment Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate, Medical, Professional. Must be enrolled in one of the following Colleges: College of Egr & Computer Sci.
