You may be admitted to the Ph.D. in Engineering program after satisfying the admission requirements set forth by the Graduate School, including a record that indicates the potential for a career in engineering research as evaluated by the program's admission committee. You should come to the program with a good understanding of engineering fundamentals.
To be considered for admission into the Ph.D. in Engineering Program, a student must first satisfy the admission requirements of the Graduate School. The student is also expected to meet the requirements for admission into the Program as described below:

In response to the closure of some ETS and IELTS testing centers due to Covid-19, GRE, TOEFL and IELTS score requirements are waived for applications received between 4/1/2020 and 8/20/2021. Applicants may choose to provide their test scores (if available) in their application or to provide them at a later time. Applications will be reviewed according to the procedure described in section 2 of the Program Policies and Procedures (PDF). Students admitted to the program without test scores will be admitted provisionally for one term only pending receipt of the test scores, consistent with Graduate School policy number 5010.3.
Refer to the Graduate School's Graduate Policies and Procedures Manual for complete details. The student's dissertation advisor and focus area chair must review the transfer of credit request and recommend the course(s) to be accepted for transfer credit.
