Why Choose the Electronic Warfare Graduate Certificate?
Prepare for the evolving demands of the defense and aerospace industries with a Graduate Certificate in Electronic Warfare (EW). This program provides advanced knowledge of the technologies and principles used to understand, control, protect and operate within the electromagnetic spectrum.
You’ll build a strong foundation in electromagnetic theory, radio frequency and microwave technologies, antenna systems, radar, wireless communications and signal processing. The curriculum also examines the three core domains of electronic warfare—electronic attack (EA), electronic protection (EP) and electronic support (ES)—and how they work together in modern EW systems.
Through advanced study and applied learning, you’ll develop the analytical and technical skills needed to evaluate emerging EW technologies and address complex challenges in the rapidly changing defense and aerospace landscape.
Careers
Electronic warfare is an increasingly important component of modern defense and aerospace systems. The certificate can help prepare you for opportunities involving:
- Electronic warfare systems
- Radar and sensing technologies
- Radio frequency and microwave engineering
- Antenna systems
- Signal processing
- Wireless communications
- Defense technology
- Aerospace systems and engineering
The program provides specialized preparation for professionals seeking to expand their expertise in electronic warfare or develop advanced skills applicable to defense and aerospace engineering careers.
Real-World Experience
Apply advanced concepts to practical electronic warfare challenges through simulations, analysis, and hands-on projects. You’ll explore how radar, wireless communications, RF and microwave components, antennas and signal processing technologies operate within the broader electromagnetic spectrum.
Coursework emphasizes the practical application of EW principles, including signal detection, classification, analysis, interference and countermeasure strategies. This applied approach helps you connect electromagnetic theory with the technologies and engineering challenges encountered in contemporary EW systems.
Academics and Curriculum
Admission
Admission requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum 3.00 GPA.
Applicants must also have completed EE 6210 at the graduate level with a minimum grade of C and EE 3260 at the undergraduate level with a minimum grade of D.
The Graduate Certificate in Electronic Warfare may be completed as part of a graduate degree program or earned as a stand-alone certificate by a non-degree graduate student. Apply to the university.
