Induction Ceremony for Order of the Engineer and Pledge of the Computing Professional
Students completing their degrees in the College of Engineering and Computer Science are cordially invited to take part in the Order of The Engineer (OOE) Steel Ring Ceremony and the Pledge of the Computing Professional. The Order of the Engineer, Inc., is a symbolic organization that seeks to promote professionalism among engineers and graduates of accredited engineering programs. The Order is the roster of engineers in the United States who have publicly accepted the "Obligation of an Engineer" while participating in an Engineers' Ring Ceremony.
The Pledge of the Computing Professional is an organization to promote the notion of computing as a recognized profession at the time of graduation for students in Computer Science and related programs. The Pledge of the Computing Professional entails a rite-of-passage ceremony for graduates from computing programs.
A combined ceremony is typically conducted each spring on the eve of Wright State's commencement. Candidates will receive an invitation a month prior to the ceremony date. Email questions to Jessica Blevins (jessica.blevins@wright.edu), Director of Academic Services.
