Adam Bryant Discusses Cyber Security and Anthem Breach with WDTN News

80 million people possibly affected by Anthem breach. Security experts Adam Bryant of Wright State University and Bob Sherman of Sinclair Community College discuss how breaches happen, and what hackers do with the information. The information is typically sold in packets for $30-$50 a piece and contain account details like bank account numbers, passwords and different websites a user visits or uses.

An organization like Anthem will run digital forensics to determine why the breach happened and what was actually taken. Users and customers should keep an eye on your credit rating, your bank accounts, change passwords so that different passwords are used on different systems/websites. Passwords* should be strong and not be common words such as a significant others, favorite sports teams and names.

As a steadfast rule all passwords should contain a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.
