Professor Amit Sheth, LexisNexis Ohio Eminent Scholar and Executive Director of Kno.e.sis is giving three keynotes at major international conferences this year. The first is “Transforming Big Data into Smart Data: Deriving Value via harnessing Volume, Variety, and Velocity using semantic techniques and technologies”, at the 30th IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering in Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 31 – Apr 4, 2014 to discuss the value of big data and forward the concept of Smart Data that is realized by extracting value from a variety of data, and how Smart Data for a growing variety of Big Data enables much larger class of applications that can benefit not just large companies but each individual. His second keynote is scheduled at the 2014 World Congress in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Applied Computing in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA July 21-24, 2014. The conference assembles a spectrum of affiliated research conferences, workshops, and symposiums into a coordinated research meeting to facilitate communication among researchers across multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research initiatives.

He will give the third keynote at the IEEE Big Data 2014 in October in Washington, DC. He also gave 27 invited talks/colloquia in eight countries during his semester long sabbatical in the first half of 2014.
