Work History

I am currently doing research at Kno.e.sis and am focusing on text analysis. I am working with the Depression team to gain insights of depression on social media, particularly Twitter.

I also am interning at Owens Corning and am focused on finding insights on customer interactions and conducting sentiment analysis on these interactions. I am working with IBM Watson and Microsoft cognitive services to conduct a proof of concept for the business.

Awards and Accomplishments

Undergraduate Poster Award for Research into Gender-Based Violence at OCWiC 2017 Conference

This project involves examining microblogs collected from Twitter to analyze public opinion regarding GBV, analyzing tweeting practices by pragmatic function (such as assertion or belief among others). We suggest that the ability to mine actionable insight depends on pragmatic function, where belief tweets specifically reveal attitudes (for example regarding sex trafficking or family condoned practices of arranged temporary marriage) that can serve as the target of intervention campaigns.

Why do you like attending Wright State University?

My favorite part of Wright State University has to be the Computer Science and Computer Engineering department. This department is an extremely friendly community! The professors and teachers care about the students and help me feel at home! There is a lot of room for growth through the department and the engineering college.
