Frequently Asked Questions

  • Am I eligible?

If you are an educator in the CS/CEG department, or a student taking at least one CS or CEG course (for credit), you're eligible.

  • How long am I eligible?

New software can be downloaded only during the duration of your CS or CEG course(s). Existing software will continue to work with free updates beyond this point, but additional licenses cannot be issued. The software licenses provided can be used for personal (non-commercial) projects or for coursework, even beyond graduation.

Your account will be deactivated between semesters (breaks, etc.) and will be deactivated during semesters you are not enrolled in a CS/CEG course (for example, if you are not taking a summer course your account will be deactivated). Accounts will be re-activated the first week of a term that you are enrolled in a CS or CEG course.

You will not be able to view your product keys or download software while your account is deactivated.

DreamSpark Premium was formerly known as the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA).
