The Department's Data Semantics (DaSe) Lab, co-led by Drs. Michelle Cheatham and Pascal Hitzler, had significant presence at the 13th International Semantic Web Conference , which was held in Riva del Garda, Italy, 19th to 23rd of October 2014. The annual conference is the world leading event on Data and World Wide Web Semantics and typically draws over 600 researchers each year.

ACM 11th Annual Programming Contest

The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) held its 11th Annual Programming contest on Saturday October 18, 2014. Each year the club holds the contest attendance grows and this year was no exception. We had over 100 students attend ranging from freshmen to graduate students participate. Which resulted in the classrooms being used slowly filling with balloons as the teams completed the problems.
